Community4LivingAreas-C4LA is a project funded by the Interreg EURO MED Programme, which brings together partners from 69 regions of 14 countries from the northern coast of the Mediterranean with a common objective:
the transition towards a climate-neutral and regenerative society for the benefit of its citizens, in accordance with the European Green Deal, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Territorial Agenda 2030.
The C4LA project responds to the Green Living Areas mission of the program by improving stakeholder governance.
Its aim is to strengthen the transnational impact of the thematic Projects of the Euro MED Program, focusing on their contribution towards climate change adaptation and mitigation. Projects will tackle this challenge through the development of greener living areas, and will work to minimize their impact on the Mediterranean and the global climate system through the approach of the green economy focusing on air pollution, energy and mobility
For the next seven years, the partners of C4LA project will work to bring together diverse thematic issues and initiatives, to achieve objectives that the projects cannot achieve separately. To ensure a sustainable growth and improvement of the quality of life in the Mediterranean, the environment is placed at the center of each mission as follows:
I. Strengthening an innovative sustainable economy
